ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Cara, I'm 26, and this is my blog.

I've been pretty dang silent around here lately - mostly all of 2014 and half of 2015 in fact, because a lot of huge changes have taken place both covertly and overtly in my life. Changes that have all turned out to be good, but have all been more painful than not to walk through and get past. But now it's 20152016, and 2016 is a brand new year, an impeccably clean slate, a whole new beginning - for many more reasons than one - for which I am very excited. Because of all of these changes, and because I'm going to be easing back into blogging and the blogging world (slowly, very slowly, as just the thought of scrolling through posts on Bloglovin' gets my anxiety going), I figured a new "About Me" section was in order.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Orange County in May of 2011. No big reason, not for school, not for a job, but simply because I felt Heavenly Father pulling me out there to live. In April of this year, I moved to British Columbia, Canada and reside here now. I'm absolutely obsessed with psychology, and it is a goal of mine to become an applied psychologist (therapist) someday. I married the most wonderful man and my best friend, Dustin, on March 5, 2016; I love him to pieces! I also love to: read, watch marathons of shows on Netflix all day (such as: The Office, Sherlock, Parks & Rec, Downton Abbey, etc), fall asleep to the sound of the rain, sing along to Taking Back Sunday in my car, and write (& receive) letters.

The thing that makes me happiest in the whole wide world is my Heavenly Father and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I became a member of this church in March of 2015 by getting baptized and confirmed, and I am so grateful that I did. I love going to church, fellowshipping with other members, reading my scriptures, praying, the list goes on, but ultimately: I am thankful for my Heavenly Father.

A couple other random facts about me: I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 8 years ago. I'm introverted, but very outgoing. If I could go anywhere in the world, it would be to Hawaii (I'm easy to please). I absolutely love the entire Batman trilogy, I've seen the entire series of The Office at least 11 times, and at the end of the day, I would much rather stay at home than go out.
